Taking Web Agencies Forward Tuesday morning, 19 September 2006

In May 2006 I wrote a few articles, that upon re-reading I felt were so good they deserved sharing again. Yes, this can also be interpreted as being too lazy to write something new, but I really feel this series of three is worth it. This was prompted by reading the news about Dreamweaver being incorporated into Adobe Creative Suite at InDesignSECRETS.com.

The Danger of Dreamweaver series is not really just a big Dreamweaver bashing fest! It’s more about how a lack of understanding web technologies leads to a poor experience for everyone, from the people developing sites, to the agencies profiting from sites, and to the audience viewing sites. The three sections cover the problem, the justification and the solution.

The Danger of Dreamweaver (Part 1) covers the atrocious, bloated, code Dreamweaver is capable of delivering in the hands of a ‘Web Professional’

The Danger of Dreamweaver (Part 2) looks into the reasons agencies put forward as to why they use Dreamweaver (other than inertia!) and why they’re mostly not quite correct.

The Danger of Dreamweaver (Part 3) discovers how to make everyone in the web development world (developers, business owners, clients) happy and fulfilled, without Dreamweaver.
