BGB Fine Art
This is the first online retail site I’ve had the pleasure of developing myself. It sells original art pieces from Bulgarian artists as well as prints. It’s also the first commercial site I’ve produced using the Ruby on Rails web development framework.
The site design primarily focuses on showing off the art work itself. The interface is uncluttered and simple, as one might expect an art-gallery to be. Printing out a page, for example this gallery page of Instruments, by Dimitar Miteff does not print out the full size painting however displays a thumbnail along with a fact-sheet style resume of the painting. Go ahead and try it out!
The site is administered via a custom CMS written in Ruby that allows uploading of images and automatically processes them for web display. Commerce is taken care of by basic PayPal integration.
