I got home from San Francisco on Wednesday morning. My flight was nice and uneventful, the way flights should be. I just wanted to add my own little rant about terrorism and airport security measures. All I can say is the terrorists won. Killing people is a secondary objective in terrorism, spreading fear is the primary objective.
“No bag, no fly.” said the kind immigrant TSA worker as he flung my small tube of toothpaste into a large bin I can only imagine was full of countless hazardous substances such as moisturiser or water. Of course at this point I have already brought my terrorpaste through the security scanning part into the heart of the airport. Considering they don’t really carefully check the contents of it what difference does a small clear plastic bag make? I could have probably walked on the plane with a tube full of C-4 with a dab of toothpaste at the end if I just had a clear plastic bag so that airport ‘security’ could watch.
I was also put through some crazy contraption that shoots air at you. You don’t really feel it but it made such a loud noise I nearly jumped out of my skin. I spotted another passenger putting their belongings into one of the tubs cracking up at this. I guess that was better than being frisked by the friendly immigrant TSA officer.
Not much else to report, I’m still working (sorta) on my new site design, I’m hoping to get it completed this year. November was the busiest month I’ve had in a long time, which meant not as much time was spent with Megan as we had hoped for. Still, we did meet twice with Marco Ambriz, the guy who is going to marry us next October.
Well, all that’s left for this post is to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, hopefully I’ll blog again before the new year, and Marco, this tall mocha – organic soy milk – no whip is for you.
